PROFILE
The Evergreen Surgical Center (ESC) is a Limited Liability Company comprised of 51% ownership by Evergreen Hospital and 49% ownership by physician partners. It is a freestanding, same-day surgical facility located within the hospital campus. ESC is approximately a 32,000 square feet facility, comprised of eight operating rooms and one procedure room. Surgical specialties represented at ESC include, but are not limited to, ENT (including computer assisted navigation system procedures), bariatric, orthopedics, ophthalmology, gynecology, urology, plastic/reconstructive, minimally invasive endoscopy, pain management and limited spine procedures. Procedures are performed on all age groups over six months of age. 

UNIT FOCUS
The focus of the center is to provide high quality, cost effective patient care.   

PATIENT CARE DELIVERY MODEL
Safe, effective and personalized patient care with high patient satisfaction is the goal at ESC. Families are involved in all aspects of treatment.

TEAM MEMBERS
The ESC team includes high quality clinical staff (RN's, technicians and surgical service assistants) and independent clinical contractors (CRNAs and anesthesiologists.) The team is supported by an executive director, clinical director, clinical supervisors and a medical director. 

SCHEDULING PRACTICES
ESC hours of operation are 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. (or later if necessary) Monday-Friday. Staffing levels are driven by the surgical operating schedule and the need to support patients. Staffing schedule is flexible to accommodate personal and educational needs.

STAFF ORIENTATION
Orientation is preceptor based, individualized and determined collaboratively by the employee, preceptor, clinical nurse educator and supervisor. 

EDUCATIONAL AND DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Staff at ESC are encouraged to expand their knowledge and skills through both in-house education and a generous allowance toward community continuing education. ESC management also encourages and supports cross training.

Evergreen Surgery Center has been in existence for 21 years and is an exceptional place to work.  It has an excellent retention history with many of the original staff still being employed.
