CEO
Robert (Bob) Malte was named Evergreen's Chief Executive Officer in April 2010, and is responsible for oversight and direction of all aspects of Evergreen Hospital's operations.
Malte most recently was president and CEO at Exempla Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Prior to that he served as senior vice president at ThedaCare and COO at Touchpoint Health Plan in Appleton, Wisconsin.
He earned a Master of Business Administration at The University of Chicago Graduate School of Business in 1982 and bachelors degree in economics at Ripon College in Wisconsin.
Senior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer
Neil Johnson is responsible for all clinical service lines, nursing services, professional services and the home health and hospice services.
Johnson joined Evergreen in January 2011. He had been serving as Vice President for Patient Care and Chief Nurse Executive at Bronson Healthcare Group in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree at Hanover College, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana University and a Master of Science Administration from Central Michigan University.
Vice President, Chief Nursing Officer
Nancee Hofmeister is directly responsible for the planning, coordination and direction of nursing care and nursing practice at Evergreen.
Hofmeister joined Evergreen in 2012 after spending the past 10 years in nursing leadership positions at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Prior to that, she had experience as a surgical service/oncology care manager, a home care case manager, and a nurse manager in obstetrics and neonatal intensive care.
She earned her MSN degree in Nursing Administration from Grand Valley State University and her BSN from the University of Michigan.
Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer
Chrissy Yamada is responsible for directing Evergreen Hospital's financial and human resources operations.
Yamada came to Evergreen from Northwest Hospital in Seattle, where she was Chief Financial Officer. Prior to that, she spent several years in the local office of the national accounting firm of KPMG. Yamada earned her BS degree in accounting from Central Washington University, and has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1985.
She is a member of several national and state organizations, including the Healthcare Financial Management Association, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Senior Vice President & Chief Medical Officer
Jeff Tomlin, MD, is responsible for Evergreen's clinical results and safety practices. He also has responsibility for patient relations, risk management, infection control and research, employed specialist practices and the medical staff office.
Dr. Tomlin came to Evergreen in 1990 as a staff anesthesiologist after completing medical school and his residency at the University of Washington. He was subsequently named medical director for the Evergreen Surgical Center, and then added the medical directorship for surgical services at Evergreen Hospital.
He is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, and spent six years as a fighter pilot and flight instructor prior to medical school. He continues his service as a member of the Naval Reserve.
Senior Vice President & Chief Information Officer
Tom Martin is responsible for information technology, Evergreen Medical Group primary care services, strategic planning, business and relationship development services at Evergreen Hospital.
Martin came to Evergreen in 2006 from University of Washington Medicine, where he served as CIO for all the UW organizations, including the UW Medical Center, Harborview Medical Center and all outpatient clinical sites. Martin earned BA degrees in mathematics and business administration from the University of Portland.
He is a member of several professional organizations, including the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives, and was a founding member of the Cerner University Hospital Customer Group.
Vice President, Professional Services
Jeff Friedman is responsible for diagnostic imaging, laboratory, rehab services and pharmacy at Evergreen Hospital.
Friedman joined Evergreen Healthcare in December 2008, after serving two years as Vice President of Operations at Fort Sanders Sevier Medical Center in Sevierville, Tennessee. Prior to that, he spent 13 years in a variety of leadership roles at Morton Plant Mease Health Care in Dunedin, Florida.
Friedman earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business psychology at Miami University and a Master of Healthcare Administration degree at the University of Minnesota. He is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Vice President, Marketing and Communications
Kay Taylor is responsible for marketing, communications, public relations, community relations, community health education and the Evergreen Healthline.
Kay joined Evergreen in December 2010 from Exempla Healthcare in Denver, where she was Vice President of Communications and Marketing for the past six years. She has more than 25 years experience as a senior marketing executive in the health care industry.
She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Alma College (Michigan) and is a member of several national health care organizations.
Executive Director, Evergreen Healthcare Foundation
Kae Peterson is responsible for the day to day activities of the foundation and manages a professional staff that is responsible for annual giving, events, major and capital gifts, and legacy giving.
Peterson joined Evergreen in 2006 after nine years the Senior Executive Director for the Shoreline Community College Foundation, Community Relations and Strategic Planning. Prior to that, Peterson was the Executive Director of the Shoreline/ South County Family YMCA a branch of the YMCA of Greater Seattle.
She has a Master degree in Education, and is active in the Redmond Rotary and the Association of Hospital Philanthropy. Peterson is also an elected Fire Commissioner for King County Fire Protection District #16.
Administrative Director, Governance and Community Services
Laurene Burton serves as the liaison between Evergreen and its publicly elected Board of Commissioners. She also oversees community service programs and levy-funded programs in addition to being Evergreen's Public Disclosure Officer.
Burton joined Evergreen's Community Health Education department in 1992, and was later named its Director. Prior to Evergreen, she worked at the University of Washington, conducting statewide training programs for health care professionals.
She received a B.S. degree from Arizona State University before attending graduate school at the University of Washington. She is actively involved in developing community partnerships and serves on the board of directors at several non-profit agencies.
