Thursday, December 22nd 2011

SEATTLE – The Washington State Hospital Association (WSHA) today announced that it recently welcomed Evergreen Healthcare CEO Bob Malte as an incoming member of the WSHA board of directors.

During his one-year term, Malte will contribute his leadership and executive healthcare administration experience to advancing WSHA’s mission to improve the health of Washington state residents by ensuring the delivery, quality, accessibility, affordability and continuity of health care.

Malte’s term in the position of AHA alternate delegate is effective January 1, 2012.

"Bob's experience, leadership style, and focus on quality, patient safety and service to patients and the community makes him an invaluable addition to our board," said Scott Bond, WSHA CEO. "I look forward to working with him to improve healthcare in Washington state over the coming year."

“It is an honor to serve as part of an association that plays such a vital role in the health and well-being of Washington residents and healthcare organizations,” said Malte.  “I’m eager to contribute to the important advocacy work WSHA does on behalf of communities across our state.”

Malte has served as Evergreen CEO since April 2010 and is responsible for leadership and strategic direction across the organization.  Under his leadership, Evergreen is committed to the health of the community through dedication to high-quality, safe, compassionate and cost-effective health care.

In addition to his leadership roles with Evergreen and WSHA, Malte is also an active leader within several community organizations on Seattle’s Eastside, including the Kirkland Chamber of Commerce board and Redmond Rotary.

Prior to joining Evergreen, he previously served as president and CEO at Exempla Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge, Colo., and as senior vice president at ThedaCare and COO at Touchpoint Health Plan in Appleton, Wis.

Malte earned a bachelor’s degree in economics at Ripon College in Wisconsin and a Master’s degree from The University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.
