Surgery
Surgery is the oldest form of cancer treatment.
Exicting new advancements in cancer surgery include the robot-assisted da Vinci prostatectomy and the da Vinci hysterectomy, both procedures available at Evergreen.
Although it remains an important part of cancer treatment today, surgery achieves great success when combined with other types of treatment, such as:
- Radiation therapy
- Chemotherapy
- Hormone Therapy
Evergreen surgeons are part of the weekly Tumor Board, which brings together experts from all areas of cancer care to define treatment options for each cancer patient.
