Evergreen offers a wide range of diabetes classes, from the fundamentals to more advanced topics. We also offer programs for diabetes prevention and gestational diabetes.
We strongly encourage everyone attending our classes to bring a support person along (at no additional cost).

Our outpatient diabetes education program is recognized by the American Diabetes Association. This recognition ensures that the education you receive meets the National Standard for Diabetes Self-Management Education.
Our diabetes classes are covered by most insurance providers, including Medicare and Medicaid. Please contact your insurance provider to discuss the coverage available to you.
Evergreen offers resources for those without insurance coverage. Please call 425.899.3008 for information about the resources you may be eligible for.
We strongly encourage anyone newly diagnosed with diabetes, and those that have never had formal diabetes education, to attend our Fundamentals of Diabetes classes to lay a strong foundation for future learning. Our classes are taken in succession beginning with a pre-class consultation.
In this session, we will review your health history, provide you with beginning diabetes information and a free glucometer if you have not yet obtained one.
This class will provide you with a strong foundation for diabetes self-management. Learn why managing diabetes is important and how to monitor your progress at home. Examine how the food we eat affects blood glucose as well as what to do when your blood glucose is too high or too low.
This class will continue to look at lifestyle choices around food, exercise, and dealing with the stresses we encounter day by day. We'll talk about menu planning, what are the components of a healthy diet, simple exercises to start us moving, and tips to consider when coping with the challenges that come our way.
Where do you want to be with your diabetes 10, 20, 30 years down the road? This class will give you the tools to stay on the right road for a healthy future. Learn about different tools that are available to help you; blood tests, foot checks, medications, goal setting, and many more. Learn to read the road signs; recognize danger, caution, stop, or yield signs. Gain the ability to see danger in advance and avoid emergencies. Most complications are avoidable if you take the right road.
Please call us at 425.899.3008 for more information or to register.
In this class, you will learn how to pick the best options from a restaurant menu as well as how to prepare meals quickly and healthfully at home. As an alternative to eating out, suggestions will be given for individuals choosing to do limited cooking at home, using some prepared or partially prepared items from the grocery store, and putting them together to create balanced meals. This class will explore cuisine from around the globe.
Breaking habits and changing behavior is difficult. This class will give you the tools to overcome the barriers that stand between you and successful diabetes self-management. Come prepared to tackle your biggest problems!
