Digital Radiography

Digital radiography images can be completed more quickly than is possible with traditional film radiography and require fewer repeats, which lowers the possibility of patients receiving unnecessary radiation exposure.

Exams utilizing digital radiography take approximately half the time as conventional film radiography:

• Chest x-rays that used to take 5 minutes now takes about 2 minutes
• Spinal x-rays that used to take 30-45 minutes are now done in 20 minutes

Most importantly, digital radiography reduces the need for repeats, which in turn lowers the possibility of unnecessary radiation exposure to patients.

Evergreen Hospital has four digital radiography suites, plus two dedicated suites in the Emergency Department. We also have a digital mobile x-ray device that transmits its data wireless throughout the hospital.
