PET/CT
PET/CT is the fusion of PET and CT scanning into one imaging system. This improves the ability to localize and characterize a disease process or lesion more accurately, especially in oncology.
Evergreen Radia's Totem Lake Imaging Center was the first in the region to offer LSO PET/CT scanning, currently the most accurate imaging technology for:
- Detecting and staging cancer
- Assessing tumor response to therapy
PET/CT also increases the sensitivity of diagnosing Alzheimer's disease and other age-related dementias.
PET/CT is four times faster than a normal PET scan (15 minutes instead of 40-60 minutes), which also increases patient comfort.
