Evergreen Hospital Emergency Department

Evergreen's state-of-the-art Emergency & Level III Trauma Center is open around the clock. We're ready to handle the full spectrum of care from pediatrics to geriatrics.

Our average "door to doctor" time is 17 minutes. That's the time from when you arrive to when you see a physician.

Our average "door to balloon" time is 63 minutes, well below the national benchmark of 90 minutes. That's the time it takes from arrival to diagnosis, testing and treatment in our cardiac catherization lab.

The center is equipped with:

• 4 trauma rooms, large enough to support multiple casualties
• 28 private acute treatment rooms, all with full cardiac monitoring
• 10 Rapid Assessment private rooms, for treatment of less serious illness and injury
• 4 isolation rooms, two with direct access from the outside via a decontamination shower 
• Dedicated CT scanner
• Portable x-ray and ultrasound units that can be taken right into the treatment rooms
• Radiographic trauma beds, so patients can be x-rayed without having to be moved 
• 24/7 access to radiologists for fast interpretation of scans

Our staff includes:

• More than 30 doctors, all board certified in emergency medicine
• Registered nurses
• Social workers available 24/7
• SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Educators) available 24/7

We can also call in specialists as needed, including:

• neurosurgeons
• general surgeons
• orthopedic surgeons
• anesthetists
• hand specialists
• plastic surgeons
• oral/maxillofacial surgeons
• adult hospitalists (adult, pediatric and OB)
• critical care/pulmonary specialists
• vascular surgeons

The Emergency & Trauma Center is backed by the full resources of Evergreen Hospital, including surgical suites, laboratory and pharmacy and one of the most advanced diagnostic imaging centers in the region.

Family-centered Care

Evergreen's philosophy of family-centered care extends into the Emergency Department, where our private rooms offer plenty of space and accommodations for family members to remain with the patient during treatment.

Our spacious waiting room provides free Wi-Fi internet access, a refreshment center and comfortable seating for up to 60 people.

Free parking is available in the underground garage, with easy elevator access to the Emergency Department.
