
Evergreen Hospital's Emergency Department in Kirkland has been designed a Level III Trauma Center by the Washington State Department of Health.
Washington state established a five level trauma system in 1995, using designations established by the American College of Surgeons. The higher the level, the more highly trained the staff is and the more advanced the facility.
As a Level III Trauma Center, Evergreen's Emergency Department meets the state's criteria for high level of 24-hour trauma emergency, operative and critical care services. It provides prompt assessment, resuscitation, emergency surgery and stabilization of trauma victims.
