Evergreen's nationally-recognized Breastfeeding Center offers education, support and professional care to help you and your baby have an enjoyable breastfeeding experience.
Our support begins soon after birth, when babies are ready to feed. Your labor nurse will help you and your baby get started with breastfeeding. During your hospital stay, our board certified lactation consultants are available for individual consultation to assess your baby's feeding style and help you solve breastfeeding difficulties.
If you need additional help once you're home, the Breastfeeding Center offers both phone and in-person consultation.
Phone Consultation
Mothers who gave birth at Evergreen can access our lactation specialists by phone at 425.899.3494. Phone consultation is available 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday. After hours, you may contact a nurse at the Evergreen Healthline by calling 425.899.3000. There is no fee for telephone consultations.
In-Person Consultation
You can make an appointment with the Breastfeeding Center, or you might be referred by your care provider. In-person consultation is available to all breastfeeding mothers, regardless of where they gave birth. Payment for Breastfeeding Center appointments may be covered by insurance; check with your carrier.

Our program earned Evergreen designation as the first Baby-Friendly Hospital in the United States from UNICEF and the World Health Organization. Our Baby-Friendly Hospital designation has been renewed every five years, most recently in 2012.
