Our specialists provide education and frequent monitoring of both the mother and babies. The goal is fewer pre-term births, which result in higher birth weights and healthier babies.

A general plan for the pregnancy is created, including the frequency of ultrasound evaluations. These typically take place every 2 to 4 weeks, depending upon the trimester, the type of placentas, and maternal medical complications.
Should any of the babies share a placenta, they are closely monitored for the potentially fatal Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome. Evergreen is one of the few hospitals in the country that provides in-utero surgical treatment for Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome.
