What to Bring

Items you would normally use at home. Our goal is to incorporate personal preferences into your therapy and discharge planning.

Some items to consider are:

  • Five to seven changes of comfortable clothing
  • Sturdy, low-heeled shoes
  • Light jacket
  • Robe and nightclothes
  • Electric razor
  • Assistive devices (cane, walker, power wheelchair)

What to Expect

Rehabilitation involves not only exercise, but improving functional independence through practicing activities of daily living.

For example:

  • Practice with getting dressed in your own clothes
  • Practice with meal preparation
  • Meals in the dining room
  • Social interaction with other patients
  • Group exercise therapy
  • Bowel and bladder programs
  • Gait training and safety awareness
  • Cognitive training
  • Swallow and speech programs
  • Practice with orthotics and ambulatory devices
  • Family training and education
