Evergreen has long been a pioneer in the development of new techniques for minimally invasive surgery, where smaller incisions replace the larger open incisions of traditional surgeries.
We're pleased to take these surgical advances another step further wtih the addition of robot-assisted surgery, with the third and latest generation of the da Vinci® Surgical System. The da Vinci surgery system offers a minimally invasive option for complex surgical procedures.
The da Vinci Surgical System uses advanced robotic technology* that allows surgeons to operate through small, dime-size abdominal incisions. Seated at a console, the surgeon views the surgical area through a tiny endoscope camera that reveals 3-D images magnified up to ten times larger than the actual size.
The controls at the console allow the surgeon to direct robot "arms" to perform precise surgery with a variety of specialized surgical instruments. The robotic instruments are able to achieve a range of motion greater than the human hand, and can compensate for natural hand tremor.
Together, these technological advancements provide da Vinci surgeons with unparalleled precision, dexterity and control that enable a minimally invasive approach to many complex surgical procedures.
For some procedures we offer single-site incision, providing an even less invasive procedure for the patient.
* It is important to know that da Vinci surgery does not place a robot at the controls; your surgeon is controlling every aspect of the surgery with the assistance of the da Vinci robotic platform.

A quicker recovery for patients. da Vinci surgery reduces pain and trauma to the body, allowing patients to recover quicker and return to their normal activities faster than with traditional open surgery. Scarring is also minimized.
Better precision for surgeons. Cameras used in normal endoscopic surgery provide two-dimensional images. The da Vinci robotic surgery system provides 3-D images that can be magnified allowing physicians an incredibly accurate view of the operating area.
