Our Pediatric Services Department is equipped to handle a wide range of medical and surgical conditions in children from birth to adolescence. We provide this care in an environment that meets your child's needs for compassion and reassurance.
We encourage parents to be actively involved in their child's care. Our staff explains every phase of treatment so parents can be a partner in the healing process. Children will feel more comfortable having their parents involved, and parents will feel more confident to care for their child once they return home. Our private pediatric suites even provide a daybed for a parent to spend the night.
Nine-year-old Justin Peck was riding his bike with friends in August 2008 when he hit a reflector in the road, flew over the handlebars and landed on a boulder. There was no outward sign of injury, but Justin was screaming from the intense pain in his abdomen.

Our pediatric hospitalists - the physicians who care for children in the hospital - are all on staff at Seattle Children's as part of a collaboration with Children's. They all completed their three-year pediatric residencies at nationally known children's hospitals.
The pediatric hospitalists are at the hospital all day, so they are right there to order tests, interpret the results and order any additional treatments 24/7.
They keep in close contact with each patient's primary care physician, providing a complete record of the patient's hospital care and suggestions for follow-up care after discharge.
Parents appreciate that their kids can get care from Children's pediatric specialists at Evergreen, which is more convenient to home.
Our pediatric nurses are trained in the fields of intensive care, orthopedics, obstetrics, medical-surgical and ambulatory care. They regularly attend continuing education classes to build upon their pediatric nursing skills.
